Women cope with children better, learn them on a smell, possess more developed intuition, show less aggression, earn less than their husbands, are not inclined to invention and do not like pornography. Scientific researches helped to discredit these myths.

1. Men always were supporters of a family. There is an ancient legend saying that while a man hunted on mammoths, a woman cared of children and gathered berries. But now archeologists found out that livelihood was provided not by men at all. Women brought 80 % of food, putting nuts, melons or bird’s eggs on a table. As frequently men could extract meat only as a result of a pursuit lasting many days.

2. Mothers learn their babies on a smell, fathers cannot do it. Swedish scientists were thoroughly engaged in this statement in 2001. 24 babies at the age from 1 till 4 weeks and 24 children from 2 till 4 years were put to bed in special shirts. Then their parents and same quantity of childless men and women was allowed to smell selected tests of smells. Aroma of babies was defined only by men. Women did not feel distinctions in a smell of newborn and more senior children, not saying about a smell of own child.

3. The fact that women cope with children better, also appeared a myth. An employee of California university, observing fathers, came to a conclusion that, as well as mothers, right after childbirth, fathers start feeling close emotional contact with a baby. Fathers, taking part in research, also talked much and played with their newborn children, kissed them often. Only reaction to laughter appeared more reserved at fathers.

4. The fact that women’s intuition is developed better, is also not absolutely true. In tests for intuition woman showed same results, as men. A conclusion of experts: cultural norms allow women believing they are more susceptible, than men. But genetically caused abilities for this purpose are absent in them.

5. Scientists also conducted a research of rather popular belief that women are less aggressive, than men. If it is a question of physical displays of aggression among children and teenagers, boys are in the lead here. However, the more aggression is splashed out in all other cases, the less appreciable gender distinctions are. Girls prefer indirect aggression, slander, refusal in friendship, manipulations. And this is not an occasion to assert that they are less aggressive.

6. Experts also checked up a legend that working wives almost always earn less than their husbands. Regular representative research spent in Germany since 1984, showed unexpected results: 35 % of working women earn more than their husbands. Richard Friman from Harward university came to similar result: almost 30 % of working wives in USA earn more than their husbands. In Europe their share makes even 59 %.

7. It was also found out that statement that majority of inventions is made by men, also is not absolutely proved. If to judge on number of inventions in medicine, computer technics or natural sciences, it is necessary to cancel that women brought the most powerful contribution in these branches. So, American Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin deciphered a structure of more than hundred molecules by means of X-rays. Ada Lavlace is considered an inventor of computer science. In 1830 a daughter of lord Byron, an English poet, wrote programs of mathematical calculations. Stephanie Kwolek invented very light material, firm as steel, and bulletproof waistcoats are made of it.

8. And, finally, more than half of women are interested in pornography, men - 73 % . As scientists proved, there are even more women sitting at TV screens during erotic shows, than men.
