A usual person does this approximately two weeks in his life. Though someone did it for 30 hours, for the sake of a record… After all, during a minute of kissing reactions similar to reactions at parachute jump occur it in an organism. Yes-yes, we speak about a kiss: innocent and French passionate one, about such habitual, ordinary display of feelings and such a novel from actual point of view. Just think …

The first fact. Medical.
Are you still unaware? It appears, from medical point of view, this ordinary ritual is rather useful!

• Lip contact represents a whole “bouquet” of difficult chemical reactions. Last medical researches have shown that a long passionate kiss increases pulse to frequency of 100 and more blows in a minute and raises level of hormones in blood of the person, so it that can prolong his life for almost 1 minute (thus, during a passionate kiss 6,4 calories in a minute are spent approximately!). A real kiss causes same chemical reactions in brain, as parachute jumps.

• At the same time, according to psychologists, a kiss calms nervous system, preventing stresses. Fans of kissing are, as a rule, optimists, they are self-confident, achieve professional and personal successes quickly.

• a kiss of sufficient duration is much better, than a cud, normalising acidity in an oral cavity. Kissing each time after meal, you considerably reduce a risk of caries.

• During a kiss we exchange 9 mg water, 0,7 g albumen, 0,18 g organic substances, 0,7 mg fats, 0,45 mg salt! All these substances, in general, are not dangerous and not only facilitate digestion, but also favorably influence immunity. Thus, do not forget that with a kiss such illnesses, as herpes, hepatitis A and B are also transferred. And during a kiss with one person, 278 various cultures of bacteria (95 % from them do not represent health hazard) are transferred to another one.

The second fact. Statistical.
An average woman “eats” 2,5 tubes of lipstick during a year. Her constant sexual partner also manages to eat a dose of glyceric “chemicals” through kissing, during a year he consumes 0,7 tubes of lipstick.

The third fact. Historical.
• Why people started kissing with each other - this remains a riddle till now. However, usually it is considered that earlier a kiss was a trust sign. Allowing other person approaching so close, people showed they were not afraid of him, and trust him entirely.

And in tribes, living in a primitive system, it was considered that during a kiss force or a soul part was transferred. If you trust a medical fact, certain “force” (for example, hormones) is really transferred! Probably, primitive felt this fact intuitively …

• In Ancient Egypt people knew nothing about kisses. Probably, Cleopatra,  known for her victories over men, never had a real kiss.

• Romans kissed each other’s eyes. It is a complete antithesis to a Russian sign on which eye kissing means parting.

• In the Middle Ages in Italy a man who kissed a girl in public, should marry her necessarily. In the city of Naples laws were the severest: for kissing in the street, you could get into trouble, and even lose your life, if it occurred in the face of a high ecclesiastic.

The fourth fact. Informative-geographical.
• Some people replace a kiss with nose rubbing. In East Asia kisses as a greeting are extended not so widely as bows, though during the XX-th century a European custom to kiss at a meeting has got even into Japan and China. In the conditions of the Arctic icy cold eskimos are afraid to freeze lips during kisses - instead they rub noses, welcoming each other. In the southeast of India and Lapland instead of a kiss it is accepted to touch your partner’s cheek with a nose and thus to make a deep, experienced sigh.

• In Japan, which we have just mentioned, kissing at witnesses is considered extremely indecent. For this reason you almost will never see a kiss in a Japanese film. The thing that is called a “Japanese” kiss all over the world, is executed this way: stand on a distance of one step from each other, bend forward and, having extended lips, touch your partner’s lips with them. Do not open your mouth!

• Africans express respect for the leader, kissing the earth which he passed.

• the Most loveful nation - Germans. They kiss on average 3,2 times for a day (in a cheek) and 1,3 times give each other erotic kisses.

• Here and there kisses are considered a crime. Thus, for example, in American state Indiana the law on which «a man with moustaches is forbidden to kiss a human being» operates till now. In the State of Connecticut it is forbidden to kiss a wife on Sundays. And in State of Iowa a sheriff can take away  anyone who kisses a stranger in a site.

• Of all animals a kiss of a chimpanzee is most similar to a human one. Dogs, horses and Canadian porcupines also kiss lips.

The fifth fact and the last one. Official.
• The process of kissing even has an official scientific name. The science which is engaged in studying of this slightly intimate employment, is called philematology.

• Since 1981 the World committee of public health services at the United Nations is engaged in research of the nature of a kiss.

• the World day of kisses celebrated on July, 6th was invented by inhabitants of Great Britain. And two ten years ago it was confirmed by the United Nations Organization and now has a status of the official holiday.
