These sunglasses are the best for the rest at the sea or in the snowy mountains, because they suppress glares from reflecting surfaces that irritate eyes up to 99%. To protect yourself from ceiling light and clearly see the car’s dashboard, you can buy glasses with a “mask” with only upper part of the lens darkened.

Photochromic glass, which is called “chameleon” is a delicate matter. They change light transmission depending on lightning, creating an optimum degree of protection and comfort for eyes. They belong to a class of very high quality glasses. Please be aware that “chameleons” may darken differently - stronger and weaker, in addition, one glass can darken more than other. A safe way to protect yourself from low-quality good - pick photochromic lenses in a good store.

An important point in glasses choice - size of lenses. The fact is that glasses should protect not only pupil, but also skin around eyes - then there will be much less wrinkles in this area. Maybe big glasses will make their owner looking like a dragonfly, but they are secure. Lenses should be evenly darkened, otherwise protection will be incomplete, and eyes will get tired.

Glass or plastic?

Lenses of sunglasses are made of three basic materials: glass, polycarbonate and acrylic plastic. Glass sunglasses are safe - glass does not transmit ultraviolet rays. But in the process of improving, glass lenses were replaced with plastic - they are lighter. But plastic transmits ultraviolet. And all would be good, such glasses could be worn for fashion or beauty. However, the blackout, which is created by such spectacles, deceives pupil, and it is not shrinking. Thus, when a man wears sunglasses, impervious to ultraviolet light, the load on eyes increases. Over time, this can cause clouding of lens, weaken eyesight. And this is no joke. Plastic glasses can be purchased only with special additives, detaining ultraviolet radiation. Reading the label, pay attention to what portion of ultraviolet rays glasses hold. Type B (UVB) is the most harmful ultraviolet rays, so sunglasses should protect from them almost completely. In case of marking of the boundary wavelengths, prevented by lenses, choose glasses with a value close to 400 nm.

Origin of fashion sunglasses

You can easily check origin of sunglasses. It is worth comparing a trademark name on a label and on the inner side of the ear (very often the name is printed directly on the lens). Note also, whether you see a country of manufacture, name of the company, its address and telephone number. If you need sunglasses not simply as a fashionable piece of toilet, then buy them in stores with a proven reputation.

Frame

It is believed that nylon is the most practical material for frame. It is easy to bend and return to its original position. Plastic frames can be easily broken. It is better if there’s another frame  inside plastic - metal.

When you buy sunglasses, hold them in hands open ears several times, bend them. A good frame is not rigid, it is resilient and recovers its shape after you have it bent slightly. Check screws that hold ears, whether they are twisted completely. Finally, try on glasses to see how comfortable they are - whether they press on the nose bridge, or maybe ears are tight. If you tilt the head, glasses should not dump or move down to the tip of the nose. Very hard glasses, most likely, will remain rigid.

How to care

If you want to wear glasses for a long time, store them properly: buy a semi-rigid carrying case for them, and even better - a hard case and keep glasses only in it. Do not put glasses on the table or bedside table lens down - so they are easy to be scratched. Wipe lens with a special hairy cloth or fine suede, these materials removed dust from lens very carefully and gently. And most importantly: regardless of the degree of darkening, it is not recommended to look directly at the sun. If skin around eyes still get tanned, change sunglasses.
